About Us

At C&C SouthFork Acres we are committed to providing the most effective, convenient solutions to our client's dog training needs using positive reinforcement/reward based methods that benefit both the dog and the trainer, while at the same time enhancing and strengthening their relationship. Assisting owners and their canine companions with their training needs in the Rochester NY, Monroe and Orleans county areas.

Our Training Methods

The training methods we use rely on positive reinforcement. In a nutshell, this means that we focus on rewarding dogs for getting things right instead of focusing on correcting them for getting things wrong. We help our dogs get things right by preventing unwanted habits from developing by managing their environments and encouraging and rewarding desired behaviors for success.

My dogs and I have worked with Marge Crane for two years. I own several Havanese and we have participated in her Wag It classes as well as private instruction for obedience and competition. Marge utilizes techniques that increase both my dogs’ focus and attention. She stays current in her knowledge as a trainer and puts those skills into practice, helping me be a better handler/owner. I can count on her to provide personalized strategies to ensure success for myself and my dogs.

Marge is a very patient, knowledgeable instructor, she will say to you what you are doing well and also will suggest changes on what you are doing to get a better response from the dog. She takes the time to explain what is going on when the dog is having difficulty with a training exercise and why certain things get certain reactions from them. She listens to you if there is something in particular you want to focus on, or something that you need to work on or a goal to work towards (Such as behaving better on the leash or needing to pass a canine test). I highly recommend taking any of her classes whether your dog is just starting down the path of training or you have a well-trained dog with just a couple specific areas to work on.

“My dog loves Wag It Games! She has transformed from shy and retiring to confident and outgoing as a result of participating in Wag It Games classes at Southfork Acres. Her new attitude shows in her improved performance in agility competition as well as how she approaches new situations in her daily life. Thank you Marge Crane!”
