The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. The purpose of the CGC Program is to ensure that our favorite companion, the dog, can be a respected member of the community because it has been trained to be well behaved in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other dogs. This class prepares you and your dog to take the 10 Item CGC test which is on week six of class. You will earn a certificate from AKC and may use the letters “CGC” after your dog’s name since it is now a Titled Event.

All Certified Therapy Dog Programs require that the dog passes this test.

For additional information on the AKC CGC Program, read here: AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Program.

* We want to be sure our classes meet your needs. If you are unsure if a class is the right fit, we are happy to speak with you or arrange a visit at the training center.
